Engine 1 - 2010 Pierce Arrow XT 1250 gpm/1000 gal.

Photographed on the exhibit floor of the 2010 Firehouse Expo, this rig is the first apparatus to sport the company’s new black over orange paint scheme (their “wagon” & medic unit are painted white over orange). As the last fire company in their area to own a Pierce, this is Friendship’s first Pierce after having operated primarily Seagrave apparatus.

This rig replaced a 2002 Spartan/Marion rescue pumper that was equipped for technical rescue including auto extrication & swift water. Originally intended to operate within the entire city of Winchester as well as on mutual aid to Frederick County, the company’s plans changed so they sold the rescue pumper complete with all the technical rescue equipment to Racine, West Virginia where the rig was repainted red & white.

Featuring a 6 man cab, this rig is equipped as a standard engine with 900’ of 1-3/4” & 400’ 2-1/2” attack line, 400’ of 3” & 1,200’ of 4” supply line, a 100’ high rise pack, thermal imager, multi-gas meter, vent saw & BLS medical equipment including an AED.
